Cyclocross bikes are designed to be used in the sport of cyclocross racing, and have a look that resembles that of bikes that are designed for road racing. This bike was actually named after one of the owners of Kona, Jake Heilbron, who was the winner of 1978′s Canadian Cyclocross Championships. The Jake comes in a multitude of size options, and supplies a more comfortable ride than ever with an innovative taller headtube.

The 7005 aluminum Kona uses to make the Jake cyclocross bike provides durability along with a light dependable alloy that also provides affordability. The Kona Jake is known for its compact rear triangle as well. When out of the saddle and hammering, the short seat stays and chain stays provide a perfect balance of power transfer and stability. Shorter seat stays provide quicker acceleration as well as less deflection when braking. While there may be other cyclocross bikes that offer more at a higher price tag, these are two choices that present high quality for a reasonable price.
